Drop-in Centres

The drop-in centres are a daily service, a social or municipal initiative that has a socio-educative preventative role. Their task is to provide support, to stimulate and empower the stucture and development of both personal and social skills, to help acquire basic learning skills and to boost the social deficiencies of the users.

The SSAP teams detect susceptible cases that have to have direct intervention. These can be situations of children at risk, that range from high social risk to situations in which small deficiencies are detected that hamper the development of the child.

From this perspective, as a resource of the existing social services, it has become a meeting place for children, adolescents and young people as part of the process of integration and socialisation. As such it provides a necessary service that supports the tasks done for families and schools by social services professionals and other services specialising in the care of children and adolescents.
