The diagnostic team’s objective is to analyse the risk situation for youngsters, study the diagnosis and produce the proposal for protective measures. They also carry out the function of gathering all the case information, examining, exploring and assessing the circumstances, situation and necessities of the youngsters to issue a diagnostic report that makes possible the production of the most appropriate protective measures proposal.
With regard to EVAMI, the function of this team is the immediate attention of urgent cases arising from situations of child maltreatment detected in the health sector, especially at weekends and holidays.
The external management of the service is by means of a contract with the DGAIA from September 2006.
The diagnostic team performs its activities in the Ntra. Sra. De la Misericòrdia reception center.
The diagnostic team consists of an inter-disciplinary team comprising two social workers, two psychologists and an educator. This, along with the social educator referring the case and the reception centre doctor, comprises the reception centre’s specialist team.
Ascribed to the reception centre’s diagnostic team is the child maltreatment assessment team - EVAMI comprising the same professionals.
Currently it carries out the study of 30 youngsters who reside temporarily at CA Misericòrdia.
Boys from 0 to 12 years of age and girls from 0 to 18 years of age.
